Klew is a daily puzzle app first. Independent constructors can publish their own work alongside the editorial schedule.
Solvers come to Klew for our daily mini, midi, daily, and weekly puzzles. Constructor publishing is a secondary path, additive to the main feed, with the same tools and no fees.

The problem
If you've ever submitted a crossword to a major outlet, this probably sounds familiar.
Submit a puzzle, wait 3 to 12 months, maybe hear back. Your work sits in a queue while you wonder.
Your puzzle gets solved and the outlet moves on. No solve data, no solver feedback, no connection to the audience reading your work.
Editors rewrite clues, adjust grids, change your voice. The published puzzle may barely resemble what you submitted.

Yes. You grant klew a non-exclusive license to distribute your puzzle. You retain full copyright and can publish it anywhere else — your blog, another outlet, a book, wherever.
Yes. Klew is free for both constructors and solvers — no fees, no credit packs, no paywalls. Klew does not currently pay constructors per puzzle; it's a platform for sharing your work with an audience, not a marketplace. Compensation models are something we may revisit as the platform grows.
You can build directly in our web-based editor, or export to .puz and .ipuz formats. Import from .puz is also supported if you have existing puzzles you want to bring over.
No gatekeeping for community publishing. Your puzzle goes through an automated quality check (valid grid, all clues filled, symmetric grid) and then it's live on your profile. The daily editorial queue — the puzzles that appear on the home screen — is a separate channel curated by Henry.
Any grid from 5x5 minis upward. The constructor editor handles any reasonable size — themed, themeless, or cryptic. Note that the editorial daily slots run 5x5, 9x9, 11x11, and 13x13 (Sundays); community-published puzzles can be any size and appear on constructor profile pages.
