klew ("we," "our," or "us") operates the klew.app website and the Klew iOS application. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.
Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and, if you sign in with Apple, the name you choose to share. We use this to authenticate you and associate your data with your account.
Puzzle data. If you are a constructor, we store the puzzles you create, including grid content, clues, and metadata. If you are a solver, we store your solve progress, completion times, and ratings.
Usage data. We collect anonymous usage data such as page views, puzzle solve counts, and feature usage to improve the product. Page-level analytics on the website are provided by Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights (see Third-Party Services below). Both are cookie-less, do not use persistent device identifiers, and do not collect personally identifying information. We do not use advertising trackers or third-party marketing analytics.
Device information. The iOS app may collect basic device information (device type, OS version) for crash reporting and compatibility purposes.
The Klew app may occasionally show a short feedback check-in. Answering is optional. If you respond, we store your optional 1-5 rating, your optional message, whether you agreed to be contacted, and basic app context: platform, device type, app version and build, the number of puzzles you have completed, and the number of days you have been active.
If you are signed in, your response is linked to your account. If you are not signed in, it is stored anonymously. If you later delete your account, your feedback responses are deleted with it. We use feedback only to improve Klew and, if you gave permission, to follow up with you. Only the Klew admin can see feedback responses.
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, which provides encryption at rest and in transit. We use row-level security policies to ensure users can only access their own data. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties.

We use essential cookies for authentication sessions. The web solver stores your puzzle progress in your browser's local storage so you can resume solving later. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels.
klew is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of significant changes via email. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects when the policy was last revised.
